And my force keeps getting bigger!
The lovely folks at Sherwood Wargames sent along another Victrix set (the Hypaspists) and I have been able to kitbash a bit. I have always loved the Hypaspists because they had a bit of versatility to them; they could be equipped in different and unique ways depending on their purpose and because they were situated between the phalanx and the cavalry, they had the added benefit of being more mobile and agile than a typical infantry formation.
So my Athenian force is going to be based around the Hypaspists. I have also added in a few peltasts (with some additional ones on the way–just need to prime them up to paint). Here is my current force as it stands.
Note: The weapons and shields (removed for convenience) are not yet painted in these pictures.
Not bad so far, right? It’s coming along! I still have a long way to go. Before I can base them I have some necessary products to review over the next week or so. Stay tuned!
Remember! If you live in the US and want a percentage off your next order of Victrix Miniatures at Sherwood Wargames (who already have the best prices around), tell them The AWI Review sent you.
